Psychiatry

Disability & autism

We assess and treat neurodevelopmental disorders and the associated mood and behavioural symptoms that can occur. We regularly assist with diagnosis and reports for NDIS and look to advocate for better care and support for all persons living with disability.

Adult ADHD

The cognitive and behavioural difficulties caused by ADHD can persist into adulthood and are more often undiagnosed, causing problems at home and work, academically, and in relationships. We offer assessment and treatment for adults with ADHD including biological and psychological approaches.

General adult psychiatry

We accept referrals for most issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, chronic pain, substance use, and personality-based disorders. We offer individualised and evidence-based treatments focused on positive outcomes in older adolescents and adults.

Psychology

Complex trauma

The experience of trauma can result in deeply troubling symptoms. Complex trauma can emerge in people who have experienced prolonged or repeated traumas, resulting in difficulties with regulating emotions and establishing a stable sense of identity. A longer-term psychotherapeutic approach is needed and offered at Inhabit.

Personality disorders

Personality disorders stem from persistent patterns of behaviour that cause distress for you and others, including difficulty with intense emotions, self-destructive behaviour, establishing independence, relationship problems, and many others. These issues can respond to the evidence-based forms of psychological therapy we offer.

Anxiety

Anxiety can become excessive and intrusive, causing tension, lost sleep, catastrophic thinking, avoidance, panic attacks, and many other issues. Psychology can assist, with approaches ranging from mindfulness and meditation techniques through to more structured, skills-based therapies.
