Dr Ash is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP). He completed his medical degree at Monash University and undertook psychiatry training in Queensland, gaining experience across a range of hospital and mental health settings. He completed advanced training at the Mater Emotional Health Unit, where he developed specialist expertise in young adult psychiatry.
His primary area of interest is young adult mental health, aiming to provide thoughtful and evidence-based care for young people who experience unique challenges and disproportionately high mental health needs.
He diagnoses and manages high prevalence mental health disorders in young adults including anxiety disorders, depressive disorders and OCD. He has particular interests in ADHD and neurodivergence, especially nuanced presentations in high functioning adults.
His approach emphasises strong therapeutic rapport, working with families and delivering gender-affirming and neuro-affirming care. He has clinical expertise in psychopharmacology to optimise a person’s quality of life. His management plans combine practical support and psychological therapy with a focus on improving day-to-day functioning and supporting meaningful recovery. He also has strong insight into local supports and referral pathways for these individuals.
Dr Ash is primarily offering face to face consultations, but is also available to support patients’ individual needs and circumstances through telehealth.
Currently, Dr Ash is not offering consultations for WorkCover or medicolegal matters.
